Capital Clean Energy Carriers (CCEC) is pleased to achieve a 2nd quartile ranking for the first time in the annual Webber ESG scorecard – the definitive ranking of corporate governance for quoted shipping stocks.

CCEC (formerly CPLP) has been a part of the scorecard since 2019 and has consistently improved its ranking each year since its initial inclusion. The scorecard evaluates shipping companies according to nine key corporate governance factors, including board composition, related party engagements and emission records. The improved score positively reflects the sustained progress the group has achieved, in parallel with its pivot from container and tanker sectors to transportation based on alternative fuels.

What is Webber scorecard

The Webber ESG scorecard ranks the public shipping universe on a number of corporate governance metrics with the goal of identifying both high quality shipping platforms and points of conflict based on those underlying factors.

why does scorecard matter?

Historically going back to the scorecards inception in 2016 those companies ranking in the higher quartile have consistently outperformed those in lower quartiles in most years on a total return (share price + dividends) basis.
