It is All About Carbon – Capture, Storage and Disposal for CCEC at Shipping Industry gathering
Capital Clean Energy Carriers CEO Jerry Kalogiratos (second left in the picture) was a key panelist of senior shipping executives discussing the key elements of a crucial subject for shipping and the energy transition – Carbon Capture.
CCEC is embedded in shipping’s response to carbon capture and utilization or CCUS. The company in June 2024 took control of contracts for 10 mid sized gas carriers including 4 liquid CO2 carriers. These vessels will represent the core of shipping’s practical response in taking excess carbon and transporting it to storage facilities.
These vessels are amongst only around 10 commercial such ships in the world and will be delivered to the company progressively during 2026.
