Capital Product Partners L.P. MR Product Tanker Arionas, it's Shipmaster and Manager Capital Ship Management Corp. receive the Amver 'Special Rescue Award' by the U.S. Coast Guard
Athens, Greece, October 31, 2014 - Capital Product Partners L.P. ( "CPLP") (NASDAQ: CPLP), announced that the Amver 'Special Rescue Award' was awarded to the Shipmaster of CPLP's vessel, M/T Arionas, Captain Christian Manole, and the vessel's manager, Capital Ship Management Corp. ('CSM'), for the successful rescue of 163 migrants on June 7, 2014 south of Malta.
It was a major rescue operation, as 163 migrants in distress on board two inflatable boats were safely accommodated on the vessel's deck and provided with all necessary provisions (water, food, blankets etc.) and disembarked in Augusta Port in Sicily, the next day, June 8, 2014.
The Award was presented on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the annual 'Amver Awards' ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel in Athens, Greece organized by the International Propeller Club of the United States, International Port of Piraeus in cooperation with the United States Coast Guard and the United States Embassy in Greece.
